The acrylic abstract and figurative paintings are from the past fifteen years. Painting is my favorite sport. I paint for the action of moving colorful goop with a brush and looking for magic moments when colors synergize. I concentrate on the feel of the brush in my hand, the viscosity of the paint on the glass palette, and the rhythm of movement. It's a dance.
I began using acrylics after using oils for a few years. I sought a medium that would dry fast without odor or petroleum solvents. When I started with acrylics, I soon realized the need to paint fast and to "keep a wet edge" to achieve the wet look that can look like oil paint. I had learned to paint fast already as a professional painting contractor and decorative painter for a couple of decades. Painting fast both kept the painted surface smooth and not "ropey", but also was necessary for efficiency. Between time spent with family, a full time job, and other life demands, I grab studio time as I can. Now that I have a body of acrylic work, I would like to share them with you.
For now, I have priced the paintings by size as that seems to be the most objective way to do it: $3.00/square inch to be exact. Shipping and insurance costs will be added to that. If you would like any more information about any of the paintings, please contact me with any questions.
